Charleston Aquarium

One of the things on our Charleston "to do" list was the South Carolina Aquarium. We had a rainy weekend so it was a perfect time to go! Nora has also been obsessed with turtles recently so we figured this would be a great place for her to see some up close. Nora enjoyed watching all the fish, looking for turtles and bringing home a new toy. Jon's brother Brian and his fiancée Tiffany spent the weekend with us as well. They did some shopping while we were at the aquarium but we all had a great time at dinner and walking around the Battery! Sorry no pictures of our evening. We knew we were going to get rained on so I didn't want the camera to get ruined :) Nora had fun playing with her Uncle Brian (who she calls "UN B") and soon to be Aunt Tiffany! We hope they come back soon for another visit!

Erica Blair and Nora Kate

Just wanted to share this photo. I found an old picture of Erica at the beach a couple of years ago and the picture of Nora is from this summer. We are thankful for the hand-me-down bathing suit :) I just thought it was so neat how similar they look in these pictures :)

Walking the Arthur Ravenel Bridge

Last Saturday we decided to do something neither of us had ever done before. Walk the Arthur Ravenel (old Cooper River) Bridge. There is a bridge run every year there but we haven't tried it. I didn't think I would be able to do it at all but it wasn't as bad as I thought. We didn't go the full length because it was so hot but we did make it past the middle :) We met some fun people and couldn't believe how many people walk/ride bikes on there every day. If you are ever in Charleston and get the chance to walk/run the bridge please do it! There are some great views up there and it's just amazing :) There are a couple of places to stop and take a break which are great if you have a little one getting tired of the stroller! Nora was such a trooper but as you can see in the last picture it wore her out! She cuddled up with her two favorites (Minnie and Sophie the Giraffe) and was out like a light! It was such a great morning and we are looking forward to doing it again!

This is a replica of the old bridge. It is made out of the steel they tore down. Pretty cool!

Memorial Day

We spent Memorial Day hanging out on the beach. It was also Jon's birthday so he was really excited to have the day off and be close enough to spend the morning on the beach! Nora loves playing in the sand and thankfully isn't afraid of the water!

Erica Blair

This is our other sweet little niece Erica Blair. She is my brother Tony's little girl and she will be 4 in October. I had to share this picture because 1) I miss her SO much and 2) it makes me laugh and smile!! My parents put in a pool at their house and Erica is loving it. One evening when Erica was at Nana and Papa's they were all getting ready to go swimming. Nana told Erica to go put some shoes on to walk out to the pool and this is what she came back with. She LOVES to play dress up :)

Vacation with the Hensons

Jon's family goes to Isle of Palms for vacation every year. We were really excited this year because Isle of Palms is only 30 min from us and our new little niece Anna was here to join in the fun! Last year Nora was only 3 months and baby Anna was still in Marne's belly. We had such a great time with the girls at the beach. They both loved the sand and water. I didn't take that many photos but Grandpa Mike did and hopefully I can borrow some of his pictures to share on here soon!
